Karakoram House turned 50 this year, the house celebrated its golden jubilee by organizing a special festival, Aurum. The festival was organised by the proud residents of Karakoram hostel. The Director, the Dean of Student Affairs and Dean of Academics also graced the occasion.
Great nights in IIT Delhi are always created, when seniors and juniors all come together. So was the evening of February 1st, 2016 when Musical junta of each year of B.Tech. came together or rather against each other. Ragnarok-Battle of the years was battle among freshers, sophomores, juniors and seniors.
The Fine Arts Club organized a Clay Modelling Competition today with a fairly large number of interested participants and the event was a tremendous success. The event was introduced as a shift in the norm and as an inviting means to stoke the creative talents of the students. The turn up and enthusiasm was notwithstanding the fact that a large number of participants had little if any experience in the subtle and skillful art of clay modelling.
The evening of Saturday, 7th November provided a huge respite to students of IIT Delhi, after Saturday was converted into a working day by the officials as they flocked to Dogra Hall to listen to exhilarating performances by various hostels to earn some prestigious points for the BRCA General Championship with Music Club’s event Jukebox.
The Fine Arts and Crafts Club staged its competitive event “Split Painting” on Wednesday the 16th. With participation capped at 39 teams, an enthusiastic turn up by 35 teams was encouraging and is strongly indicative of the passionate interest in the fine arts harbored by the students.
A couple of years back, BRCA was turned into a non-competitive board on a trial basis on account of the rigging involved in some of the events. This led to massive disappointment among the people who loved the spirit of competition. But we were recently given good news when the BRCA general body decided to make the board's events competitive again.
For days and nights, some people among us have been on pins and needles, they have lost sleep over to what boiled down to artistry so stupendous that audience just couldn't resist thumping to their beats in the Inter Hostel Duo Dance Competition organised by Dance Club, IITD last Sunday.
