It was late evening of 4th Feb when history repeated itself as the finalists of last years interhostel tennis tournament – Shivalik and Udaigiri clashed. The first match was a singles between Ribhav (of Shiva) and Kritarth (of Udai).
Both the players kept the ball in the court however the magic of winners and aces was missing barring a few here and there. Both had a close fight but it was Udaigiri that was cut above and claimed the first match 7-6 (7-4) and 7-6 (7-3). Alan Sir from UG Department who was playing on the adjacent court was apt in pointing out that both players needed to work on their fitness.
The second match was a doubles one as Shouri joined Kritarth against Yash and Ribhav of Shiva. This match seemed like an easy sail for Udaigiri as their confident shots and great volleys always put them in the lead. There were a few comebacks from Shiva however it was Udaigiri’s might that prevailed in the end as they won the match 6-4 6-2. And that’s how they defeated Shiva and repeated last year’s history too!
