It was early for a Saturday at IITD when the T20 cricket match between Shivalik and Vindhyachal began. Vindy won the toss and elected to bowl first. The match began on a high note but lost steam midway. Singles and doubles kept the run-rate for Shivalik to be roughly at 8 per over as the team made 163 runs
at the loss of 6 wickets. Gaurav and Gole (as he is popularly called by his teammates) had an excellent partnership. Gaurav scored the maximum runs (40) from Shiva, while Darshan from Vindy conceded the most runs per over (32 runs in 2 overs). It was Vivek in Vindy who took the most wickets for his team. The second innings began in a tense mode as Vindy had a lot to score. Vindy’s batting witnessed highs and lows with Devesh scoring the maximum runs for his team (44). However, it didn’t appear sufficient as Shiva’ bowlers gave a tough time to Vindy by keeping the runs per over quite low. Gaurav from Shiva conceded only 14 runs in 3 overs having the best economy rate from his team. At the end, Vindy could only manage 127 runs at the loss of 4 wickets. Shiva won the match by 36 runs and the excitement of the team was visible after the match as they shouted Jai Shiva, Jai Shiva!
