Institute Dance production, a conglomeration of best talents from each hostel coming together to create a pedestal of visual treat ,was organised on 16 April 2014 in the Seminar Hall by the Dance Club ,IITD. The most awaited and the most participated event, IDP, provides a unique platform for ingenuity and pitting yourself against the aficionados of dance and it receives overwhelming response each year! Constituting of 28 sequences of dance forms : Contemporary, classical, Indian classical, HipHop, Bollywood and many more, each reflecting the spirit of enthusiasm and creativity, IDP surely managed to keep the audience glued to their seats! While the performances were mostly delivered by the freshers, it was orchestrated and choreographed by the senior batches ,so the senior batch really made the freshers “dance on their tunes” . A tribute was offered to the connoisseur of dance, S. Kaushal, for his contributions to the club. The comic timing of some of the acts had the audience in splits!
This article would be incomplete without mentioning the tremendous efforts put in by Neha Verma, the Dance Secretary ,in conceptualizing the whole event. A special performance by the members of the Music club on the song “Aashiyana” from Barfi surely got the audience mesmerized! In the midst of the dancer’s swoops and the tangling leaps and ostentatious slogans of Modi sarkaar and astounding, breathtaking, stupendous, jaw dropping performances, the audience really had an extraordinary time!
