For days and nights, some people among us have been on pins and needles, they have lost sleep over to what boiled down to artistry so stupendous that audience just couldn't resist thumping to their beats in the Inter Hostel Duo Dance Competition organised by Dance Club, IITD last Sunday.

Marking the first competitive dance event of the year, the event “Duo Dance” stand for a stage dominated by dance forms like Contemporary, Hip- Hop, Dubstep, Lyrical etc. yet every year each hostel tries to incorporate something new be it in the form of folk dances or in some innovative use of props within dances. The event received so much response that you would have to wade through a packed Seminar Hall to catch a glimpse of what dance stands for in IITD. Hostel specific cheers found themselves to be the local carols of the night. Each hostel performed the best out of their talents. People were drooling over the tunes of Lean on, Le le re Selfie le, Beat it etc. No one would deny that Game of Thrones theme was the cynosure of the night which was performed as a part of special performance by Jwalamukhi and Karakoram hostel.
Some minor changes were introduced in the event this year making it “DUO+” . Every competing team had to pay a tribute to a great Indian legend. Gratitude to legends like APJ Abdul Kalam, Armed Forces, sportstars like Sachin Tendulkar and some Bollywood stars left the crowd mesmerized. After a full 3-4 hour extravaganza, everybody was awestruck with girls' domination over the competition as the event anchors Utkarsha and Ankit invited the judges of the event, Prince and Rohan, (Both of the judges are masters of their fields and carry a wide experience in choreography and dance) to announce that Kailash and Himadri secured Second and Third spots respectively. Kumaon Hostel led the podium as they emerged winners of Duo Competition 2015-2016. Celebrations all round the campus were some moments to cherish for life.
